The field trip will give a unique insight into the E&P activities of OMV in the Vienna Basin. After an introduction, the participants will visit OMV’s production site where they will have a detailed tour through the production facilities in place (e.g., oil rig, core lab, water treatment plant) and will learn about the processes, equipment and services needed to successfully produce oil and gas.
FIELD Challenge (Fully Integrated EvaLuation Development)
Deadline: 15 December 2015
The EAGE FIELD Challenge promotes cross-disciplinary geoscience and engineering integration within universities. In teams, students will be required to analyze and propose a FIELD development plan for a discovered hydrocarbon resource. This year the data set is sponsored by OMV. University teams can apply for the FIELD Challenge opportunity via an essay submission, 2,000 - 3,000 words in length, with this year’s topic: “Many geoscientists and reservoir engineers in your company will retire in three to five years from now. How would you organize the transfer of knowledge between these senior geoscientists and the new generation?”.
Essay guidelines and rules of the FIELD Challenge are available on www.eage.org/students. The 6 best essays will be selected and those finalists will receive travel grants to Vienna 2016 to present their FIELD development plan to an expert jury.
