Workshop 2: Petrographic coded Models in Rock Physics - various approaches
Convenor: | N. Gegenhuber (Montanuniversitaet Leoben) |
Time: | 09:00 – 11:00 hrs |
Workshop summary
Petrophysics refers to the research on the physical properties of rocks, their experimental and theoretical derivation and their correlations. In this course/workshop the petrographic coded model concept will be explained and examples of the applications are shown and discussed. The first application of the model was to derive a correlation between thermal conductivity and compressional wave velocity. The model concept can help to understand various influencing factors for the different petrophysical properties and become a powerful tool for data interpretation.
