Following the successful event Saint Petersburg 2008, the next big international conference and exhibition on geoscience in Russia will be Saint Petersburg 2010. The meeting is jointly organised by European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), EurAsian Geophysical Society (EAGO) and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG). The broad support of these leading geoscientific societies guarantees a high quality level for both the exhibition and the conference. An international crowd of about 1,000 geologists, geophysicists and engineers are expected to attend in addition to leading government officials from Russia.

Chairman of the Federal Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation

To the participants of Saint Petersburg 2010, the 4th International Conference & Exhibition: New Discoveries through Integration of Geosciences

Dear colleagues,

It is my pleasure to welcome the organizers, delegates and guests of Saint Petersburg 2010, to the 4th International Conference & Exhibition: New Discoveries through Integration of Geosciences. It is significant that Saint Petersburg is once again hosting the conference. Saint Petersburg has been the largest scientific and cultural centre of Russia for over 300 years, since the establishment of the mining and geological industry. The city has many
higher-education institutions and scientific research institutes that study and develop earth sciences. The delegates of this representative international forum have a chance to share their experiences in the latest achievements in
mineral resources exploration, rational usage of the subsoil asset, and environment control. I am convinced that this significant forum will serve to consolidate efforts in the further development of geological and geophysical
science and practice and that it will promote mutually beneficial business and cooperation opportunities.

I wish the delegates all the best in working creatively for the good of Russia and I hope they will enjoy this conference.

        Sergey M. Mironov.
