Due to great success it was decided to close Registration early in order to maintain the quality of our workshop. Please note that there still are few places available. Should you be interested then please contact our Registration Dept at: registration@eage.org.
As interest in shale is growing fast we realise its importance not only for the classical issues of well bore stability and overburden characterisation, but increasingly for both gas shale exploration and production and the integrity of seals for CO2 storage sites. Solutions require a common vision developed from a multi-disciplinary approach to the intrinsic physicochemical properties of shale and the way that these are affected by changes in stress. Geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists and geomechanical engineers all have key roles to play. With this workshop, we aim to bring together practitioners from all these disciplines to broaden our collective knowledge through the sharing of discipline-specific experience.
The EAGE Shale Workshop 2010 aims to foster discussion and encourages everyone to fully participate. There will be several breakout sessions to discuss key issues, based on an integration of the general topic areas of the workshop. Attendance will be limited to 90 people. Abstracts and talks will only be published with your permission.
