On behalf of the Scientific Committee, I welcome you to this 9th European Conference on the Mathematics of Oil Recovery - ECMOR IX. While selecting the papers, this committee was impressed by the quality. We were wondering if this was due to the location: Cannes !
More seriously, it is interesting to observe the renewal of interest in this area of research.
There are few technologies that oil companies consider essential for them: Reservoir Characterization and Reservoir Simulation technologies. To obtain more accurate production forecasts stronger and more efficient, links must be developed between these two worlds.
That is why the main topic of this conference is to enhance the link between geological modelling and fluid flow simulation.
We hope that you will take advantage of this conference by sharing your experience.
