Broadband Seismic - Technical Value to Reservoir Characterization Workflows?
Convenors: Thierry Cadoret (TOTAL), Didier Rappin (TOTAL) & Cyrille Reiser (Petroleum Geo-Services)

Monday 4 June, 9:00 - 16:00 hrs

Workshop description
Broadband seismic datasets and their associated studies are now becoming available. All interpretation domains are concerned, especially seismic reservoir characterization which can benefit from both ends of the frequency spectrum. Going forward with these advances, we shall be faced with questions such as: How do they impact AVO/AVA studies? How to quantify the increase of seismic significance away from the wells? What is the effective technical benefit of very low frequencies to the inversion workflow? How will the geomodel accuracy and robustness evolve?

Workshop objectives and deliverables
The goal of this workshop is to stimulate an open discussion on the broadband technique, review experiences and understand future directions.
Apart from an extensive technology update, all participants are encouraged to share their experiences to better appreciate and, possibly, quantify the added value and also the limitations provided by these innovative seismic solutions.

Workshop format
The workshop will be structured around a series of presentations by invited speakers, followed by extended question and answer moments. The final format is still under discussion, in particular the opportunity of round tables organisation and the duration of the closing debate.

Who should attend
This workshop is designed for professionals in the oil and gas industry and in the academia, who are involved in broadband technology, experiences and developments. It will be an exciting exchange opportunity for experienced professionals and a learning moment for younger geoscientists.

For questions about the workshop please contact the convenors.
