Welcome to Dubna!
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I invite you to participate in the 1st scientific and practical conference Information Technologies for Geosciences 2012, held in Dubna, Moscow region, from 7 to 9 December 2012.
I hope that the conference in Dubna is a good opportunity to discuss the applications of IT technologies in geosciences as well as current problems of training specialists in geology and geophysics.
The demonstration of achievements and the possibilities of new information technologies for solving geological and geophysical issues should draw the participants’ attention to the necessity of integration approaches for providing answers to complex exploration issues.
The modern principles of innovative education are based on systematic, problem-oriented, information, and creative approaches that, if applied, will promote the preparation of geosciences professionals of high demand.
The interesting scientific programme, round-table discussions and cultural events will make our conference a significant event in the area of applied geoinformatics. It is probably only natural that Dubna, a unique and rapidly developing city of innovative sciences, will host this conference. We look forward to seeing you on the banks of the rivers Volga and Sestra and on the shores of Moscow sea!
