Publishing with EAGE

EAGE Media & Publications

As a multidisciplinary global association, EAGE generates a variety of media output. Much of this is centered around our written publications.

Publications

EAGE Publications is truly unique in the world; no other society has the range in journals and books available that EAGE does. Our scientific journals and monthly magazine First Break appeal to all facets of EAGE’s multidisciplinary membership base. In addition, we offer many titles, in-house and others, in the EAGE Bookshop. Furthermore, (extended) abstracts from EAGE events are also available in our online database EarthDoc, as well as (extended) abstracts from many different non-EAGE events, going as far back as 1982.

Publish with EAGE

EAGE publishes books and journals in-house and can also arrange this for third party publications.  EAGE’s extensive marketing network makes sure these publications get the attention they deserve. All books are promoted and sold on EarthDoc. Furthermore, reviews of books and interviews with authors are published in EAGE’s flagship magazine First Break.

For more information on publishing with us, please send an e-mail to publications@eage.org.

EAGE Statement on AI Generated Content for Papers

EAGE acknowledges the use of generative AI tools, like ChatGPT, Bard, etc., in research publications, books, articles and abstracts. However, some concerns have been raised about these tools and therefore EAGE has some rules in place.

  • Responsibility and accountability
You are solely responsible for your submissions, whether human generated or AI-generated or both. EAGE assumes that you, as a scientific professional publishing with a society, understand the limitations of generative AI tools and understand when you can and cannot use them.
  • Acknowledgments
Remember to acknowledge whatever help you received from AI tools. Be specific how you used them – for idea generation, copyediting, brainstorming etc. Indicate which piece of text has been written with the help of an AI tool. Remember that the text should reflect your opinion as an author. An AI tool can never be an author or a co-author. If used for a presentation, you should be able to completely understand and explain your work to an audience and answer relevant questions.
  • Professional integrity
If you publish with EAGE, your professional scientific integrity must always be upheld. Please be ethical and responsible when using AI tools. You are strongly advised to check with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). See COPE’s position statement and relevant sources concerning authorship and AI tools.
  • 100% integral generated text not allowed
To have your abstract or article completely written by an AI tool is not allowed, since it cannot comply with the descriptions above for Responsibility and accountability and Acknowledgement.

Siddharth Misra

Award-Spinning-coin-

Prof Dr Siddharth Misra’s research focuses on improving subsurface characterization and prospect evaluation for the exploration of hydrocarbons, minerals and water resources.

His major contribution is in the theory of electromagnetic responses of geological formations to various charge polarization phenomena. The theory has enabled him to introduce a multi-frequency electromagnetic log-inversion technique to remove dielectric effects for improved estimation of hydrocarbon pore volume.
