Session for Professional Women in Geoscience and Engineering
16:00 - 18.00 hrs, Room: Club/Brasserie

Vienna 2016 will once again offer a special session for Professional Women in Geoscience and Engineering. The session will feature two inspiring speakers providing a good mixture of career/personal life management and technical work, followed by an interactive discussion, and time to mingle with fellow participants.

Ceri Powell (Executive VP, Shell), will present on: ‘Reflections on the Attraction, Development and Retention of Women in 2016.’
The speech from Wiebke Athmer (Geology Discipline Manager, Schlumberger Stavanger Research ) is on the topic ‘Female Scientists in the Petroleum Industry: Integrated and Equal?’.

Although tailored for our female EAGE community, we encourage all delegates to join.

Session for Young Professionals
10:00 - 12:00 hrs, Room: Club/Brasserie

Following last year’s success, delegates under the age of 35 years are once again invited to a special session focusing on Young Professionals. The session will feature inspiring speakers, it will focus on soft-skills and teach you how to put everything you learned into practice.

Max Brouwers (VP Exploration, Europe & CIS, Shell) will talk about ‘Technology and Capability – a Recipe for Business and Career Success’.

The speech of Michel Kemper (Technical Director, Ikon Science) will be covering ‘From a Small Fish in a Big Pond to a Large Fish in a Small Pond’.

After the keynote speeches, Linda Lerchbaumer (Exploration Geologist, OMV Exploration) and Jeffrey Shragge (Associate Professor, The University of Western Australia) will give a short introduction to the interactive round table sessions that will follow.
